Mass Effect 3 Copies To Be Launched Into Space

This is just simply crazy but might win the most unique PR program of the year.
Starting in San Francisco on February 23rd, BioWare will be launching copies of Mass Effect 3 into space (the upper atmosphere actually) where they will drop back down into a landing zone. The details are not clear yet (watch the video for some hints) but the idea is to track them to the landing zone back on earth. be the first to get there and you'll get your very own copy of Mass Effect 3: Space Edition.
I'm trying to think how they'll accomplish this and did they get clearance from the FAA?
