The demo for Rage is now available on the Playstation Network in North American and will be available in Europe on December 7th. It comes in at a size of of 1.85 GB.

This demo presents a slice of the early game, giving players a chance to explore the town of Wellspring and participate in races, games and other attractions. When you’ve had your fill there, you can head out to deal with some Ghost Clan raiders. Shooting might be involved. The Ghost Clan, a cult of murderous fanatics, has infiltrated the waterworks beneath the town and plans to poison the water supply. You are the only one with the weapons, the talent and the courage to stop them. Also while in Wellspring, try your hand in games of chance, peruse the wares of the local vendors and hit the Speedway for some white-knuckle racing.

Rage is a groundbreaking first-person shooter set in the not-too-distant future after an asteroid impacts Earth, leaving a ravaged world behind. You emerge into this vast wasteland to discover humanity working to rebuild itself against such forces as raider gangs, mutants, and much more. Rod Abernethy's genre-bending compositions for RU enhance the anarchic and desolate atmosphere of the environments as well as underscoring the intense combat encounters with its hostile, twisted characters. The expansive score features various styles including: western acoustic guitars, dissonant orchestral music, eerie soundscapes and industrial electronic manipulations, all affected with an edge of danger, isolation and fight for survival mode.
